Dearest Margaret, Vicky, Rory & family.
My condolences on the loss of Gerry. I remember visits with your family as a child. He always stayed in my memories. Maybe because he was a character. Give your mom a big hug from me.

Uncle Jerry will be missed. He kept in touch with extended family and ensured everyone was up to date on family matters. He offered to help whenever anyone was in need including assisting me when needed, for which I am grateful. There will be a void without him. Thinking of Aunt Marg and other family members at this time. Lisa Yassein

Dear Aunt Margaret, Vicki, Rory and family
We are very sad to hear of Uncle Jerry'y passing.
He was always so upbeat and entertaining at our family gatherings.
One might say the "life of the party".
Jerry and I visited at their home on Hillier Cres last fall.
Enjoyed reminiscing and even photos of their wedding and marriage invitation and reply cards, which my parents, Betty and Howard Dool, had saved all these years.
It was a wonderful day that we will cherish, as with all the other fond memories.
Aunt Marg and Uncle Jerry have joined our family for the past few Christmas in Guelph. These were very special times!!!!!
Sending our love and deepest sympathy.
Marian(Dool) and Jerry Wink and family, Orillia

We will remember Uncle Jerry in many ways. He was the son of British immigrants, Walter and Elsie, and the proud brother of those who passed before him - Phyllis, Fern, Syd, Roy, Walt, twin sisters Emily and Elsie who died in infancy, Aubin, Dorothy and Don - and of course, his remaining siblings, Wally and Doreen. He loved, Marg, his 'bride' of 68 years, and spoke warmly of his daughters, their husbands, and his grandchildren.
He was caring, even 'over the top' in this regard at times, he was feisty, well read, loved to surf the net, and could talk your ear off. One of his favourite sayings was 'to make a long story short' to which his brother Don once replied: 'It's too late for that!' He was also a proud member of the Brantford Golf and Country Club, golfing until a year ago.
Within the large Dowden family, each of us likely had a different relationship with Jerry but we certainly choose to honour his memory and to acknowledge that he surely will be missed.
