My mom was one special lady. The kids in her neighbourhood flocked to her and they have many fond memories of "Allie". She lived amongst the hub of Pearl Street, both cared for by and caring of her neighbours. She worked to keep her little piece of the world safe and kept a close watch on the goings on. She kept everyone up to date on the weather. You would find her, in the evenings and afternoons glued to either a hockey game or ball game or both. What a shame she didn't see the Leafs win a cup but she was around the last time they did. She was mom to many of my friends growing up and fed anyone who stopped by. There was always a place at the table and in her heart for all. Belying her sweetness was the language of a sailor, inherited fully by myself. She was fiercely protective and I pitied anyone who did us kids wrong. I could go on forever but what I would like to say most is that everyone who sent condolences noted what a kind lady she was. This is her mark that she left on the world, and that's the most we can hope for or be remembered for.❤️
